No SLSA provenance npm registry signatures gitHead linked

Without SLSA provenance there is no cryptographic link between this tarball and the public source — the axios compromise (March 2026) relied on exactly this gap.

Findings the reviewer chose to accept rather than block on.

SourceRuleReasonAccepted byWhen
provenance publisher-changed AI (provenance): Publisher change from balderdashy to mikermcneil in 2015 is a documented legitimate transition; Mike McNeil is the author and founder of Balderdashy. Stable for this package. ai
maintainer-change maintainer-added AI (maintainer-change): mikermcneil added as maintainer reflects the same 2015 Balderdashy→mikermcneil consolidation; not a compromise signal for this package. ai

HIGH Publisher changed: balderdashy → mikermcneil (on 2015-01-19) provenance
